A Historic First for Jordan: Al Armouti Represents Jordanian Solar Panel Industry in Anti-Dumping Probe

Amman-In a landmark development, Jordan has launched its first-ever anti-dumping investigation. The case targets imports of solar panels modules from China, and marks a bold step in defending the interests of the local industry.

The Jordanian Ministry of Industry and Trade, through its National Production Protection Directorate, officially began the investigation last week after receiving a complaint from Jordanian solar panel producers, filed by the law offices of Baha'a Al Armouti, the representative of the Jordanian industry.

As part of the procedure, the Directorate has called on Chinese exporters, the Government of the People’s Republic of China, and importing companies to actively participate in the investigation process.

The probe will follow the provisions of the National Production Protection Law and the Anti-Dumping and Subsidy Regulations, and is expected to last up to one year, during which all submitted data from both the domestic industry and exporters will be thoroughly examined.
