Morocco: Anti-Dumping Duties Imposed on Plywood and Galvanized Wire Imports

The Moroccan Ministry of Industry and Trade has announced that final anti-dumping measures have been imposed on specific industrial imports, transitioning from provisional to definitive duties. This legal action aims to mitigate material injury to domestic industries and ensure fair market competition under the trade defense mechanisms of Law No. 15.09.
The definitive customs measures mandate the following duty rates:
Chinese Plywood: A 76% anti-dumping duty has been maintained and extended until August 28, 2027. Certain white birch (Betula pendula) plywood products are exempt from this decision, provided they meet strict technical specifications regarding thickness and density and are accompanied by the requisite compliance documentation.
UAE Galvanized Wires: A definitive duty of 18.44% is applied to imports from "Al Khaleej Steel Industries," while a heightened rate of 52.71% is levied on all other targeted exporters from the United Arab Emirates.
Egyptian Galvanized Wires: A 46% duty is imposed on imports from "The Egyptian Union for Wires - MAFO," as well as all other relevant Egyptian exporters subject to the measure.
The finalized duties on galvanized wires entered into force in late September 2026 and will remain in effect for a statutory period of five years. These measures reflect the strict application of anti-dumping regulations following comprehensive investigations that confirmed the presence of dumping.
