China Imposes Provisional Anti-Dumping Measures on Imports of Semiconductor Material From Japan

China’s Ministry of Commerce has imposed provisional anti-dumping measures on imports of dichlorosilane (DCS) originating in Japan, effective 8 September 2026. The preliminary determination found that the investigated imports were dumped, that China’s domestic industry suffered material injury, and that a causal link existed between the dumped imports and the injury.

Dichlorosilane is an important input used in semiconductor manufacturing. Under the provisional measures, Chinese importers are required to provide deposits ranging from 80.8% to 99.2%, depending on the Japanese producer concerned.
