Al Armouti is representing Al Zumot Corporation, the largest importer of Potato Chips in Jordan in the safeguard investigation initiated by the Jordanian National Production Protection Directorate into imports of Potato Chips from.
The petition was filed by two Jordanian Potato Chips industries under the National Production Protection Law No. 21 of 2004 and the WTO Safeguards Agreement.
NPPD announced the initiation of the safeguards investigation in September 2019. The major exporting country of Potato Chips to Jordan is Saudi Arabia, with a share of about %63 of total imports in 2018 as per import statistics provided by Jordan Customs Department.
